About Joanne and The Chic Cake Boutique
My name is Joanne and I’m now partime student(student card and all…..) of Food Photography in CIT.
When I’m not studing I am a mother of two kids, Aislinn and Jack, a wife to Richard, and owner of The Chic Cake Boutique. The Chic Cake Boutique is an award winning wedding cake company, which I established in 2014.
Wedding cakes are filled with an Italian meringue buttercream. The addition of r citrus curds, conserves or caramel. cakes can be paired with a variety of nuts, fruits and spices to add a little texture.
Wedding Cakes are covered in a chocolate ganache, covered in a white fondant icing and simply decorated with fresh or sugar flowers. This style of cake will express that clean stylish finish.
Semi naked cakes will emphases the rustic appeal when filled with buttercream and curds and can be decorated with seasonal fruits and fresh organic flowers. This style of cake definitely very popular and exposes the cakes natural beauty.
I am a qualified chef with a Degree in Culinary Arts with special emphis on pastry from GMIT.
In 2008, I completed a course in Artistic Chocolate at Ecoile Gastronomique Bellouet Conseil in Paris. It is very important to constantly upskill to keep up to date with modern cake trends. I has completed sugarcraft classes and online courses in Ireland and Europe.
I have won awards for her sugarcraft work. A Bronze medal at Sodexho salon culinaire. In addition she has received highly commended and commended for her sugarcraft work at Cork Sugarcraft Exhibition.
