We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding cake. Not only did it look absolutely amazing, but it tasted just as incredible — our guests are still talking about it!
Joanne was an absolute gem of a lady and such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We were dealing with some extenuating circumstances at the time, and she was so kind, patient, and understanding, which we truly appreciated.
The cake was exactly what we wanted, beautifully executed, and made with such care. We would highly recommend her to any couple looking for both exceptional quality and a genuinely lovely person to work with.

Joanne from the Chic Cake Boutique recently did our wedding cake and there is honestly not enough positive adjectives to describe Joanne, her work and the cake. From start to finish she was an absolute diamond to work with.

About 8 months beforehand Joanne send us a box of fresh cake samples in a handcrafted box with coffee sachets for good measure (so thoughful).

Joanne is so considerate that she send this box of cake samples again about 3 months beforehand to make sure we were happy with the flavours we had chosen. They were all absolutely delicious so fresh and flavoursome.

The variety of flavours was unbelievable, we were delighted with all 3 flavours we chose (biscuit cake, sponge of elderflower and prosecco and almond/cherry).

We got to meet Joanne in person about 4 months before the wedding and it was great because you get to know a person outside of emails and phone calls.

When we returned to our wedding suite that night Joanne had provided us with a wedding bag with two cupcakes, a wedding card wishing us well and a scratch card, again just going above and beyond the call of duty.

We were truly blessed to have Joanne doing our wedding cake, the only problem we have now is to try and spare what we have left!

Joanne’s cakes are spectacular and always taste delicious. I work in the wedding busy and I regularly see Joanne delivering 5 star cakes always beautifully decorated and presented.

Joanne was amazing. We had a three tier beautiful Lord of the Rings themed cake and it was fabulous. The attention to detail was second to none the sugar roses and ivy were beautiful. The table set up was fantastic my wife and I could not have asked for a more beautiful looking or tasting cake to celebrate our special day with.

Joanne sorry I'm so late writing this review.
Joanne made the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake, there wasn't a crumb left. She went over and beyond from that initial video call to delivery and set up of the cake. She sent us a Christmas card which was a really thoughtful touch. Thanks Joanne for everything.

I met Joanne at Wedfest in Cork in January 2025.
We were looking for a single tier with 60 cupcakes to feed approx 100 guests on a Sunday in May.
Joanne came back to us within a couple days with a quote of €395 for the above including delivery and set up. This sounded great and was below our budget. We paid the €100 booking deposit.

We then realised in early March that we would like to convert it to a 3 tier cake to feed the same amount of guests. Joanne said that was fine and never indicated a change in price. We did note on her brochure that a 3 tier buttercream cake started at €450 which felt ok. We had also sent her images of what we wanted design wise. Plain buttercream with some gold foil. And potentially including some of our wedding flowers.
We ordered the tasting box which was lovely. And we sent her our preferred choices.

Six weeks before the wedding, we were sent an updated quote of €665 which was a 68% increase on the original quote. Obviously we were shocked and asked for a breakdown of the costs as well as to try understand where we could get it within budget which was €500.

This turned out to be the most stressful experience as Joanne was not helpful in getting to the €500 mark. We asked if we could pare back the flavours and the design to remove any additional work. We were quoted €450 plus €115 delivery and set up. Again over budget. We asked if we could collect it. We were told no. We asked if we could have it unstacked. We were told no. We asked if we could get the original order at the original price that we based our booking deposit on and we were met by angry and sarky responses.

By the end of the week, she did tell us she had reached out to her environmental health officer to check her liability it we collected it. They agreed as long as we signed a waiver. We were fine with that. Even after this, with us asking for a basic flavours, basic design, unstacked and collected and set up by us, Joanne still came back to us with a quote of €555. At this stage we were exhausted with by the interactions and the stress of trying to figure out how to get a cake sorted six weeks from the wedding.

It felt clear to us that Joanne didn't want to do the job but didn't want to cancel from her side. All we wanted was for Joanne to come to us and suggest a cake that we could afford. She didn't once do that. We decided not to proceed with the order knowing we wouldn't get the deposit back because we did the cancellation.

Joanne's cakes are beautiful and tasty but the experience and flexibility left a really bad taste in our mouth.

Joanne was fabulous! I had a small destination wedding, and did not have too many specific details in mind. She worked with me over zoom to plan the perfect wedding cake. I also requested cookies for my welcome bags at the last minute, and she created the most gorgeous cookies, which were beautifully packaged! The cake and cookies were delicious!

I would recommend The Cake Boutique for all your cake needs. I got married 30/11/24 and I must say i couldn't find a flaw wiry the cake if I tried. It was beautifully done and exactly how I wanted, she was with us every step of the journey to see exactly what we wanted and the cake ended up being everything we could have hoped for, Joanne was amazing to work with and when we couldn't decide flavours, we got a cake tasting box with an amazing difference in flavours to help us choose and overall make our lives so much easier. I can only say fantastic things about her and the cake she made us for our day.

I highly recommend The Chic Cake Boutique for all your cake needs. The cake was very beautiful and was very tasty. I liaised with Joanne via email the whole time as I live in Australia. She was very responsive and gave me all the information I needed. She also liaised with the florist for me as I wanted flowers on the cake. The cake looked exactly like I wanted it to.

We got our wedding cake from joanne, it was absolutely beautiful, she was able to take the design we wanted and make it come to life and included our dog within the cake also! Joanne is so professional to work with and so accommodating too, nothing is to big of an ask! Her cake flavours are so unique and delicious, everybody at our wedding was speaking about it. We had the most beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding.
Joanne was extremely professional and so easy to deal with from start to finish.
They are so many flavours to choose from, and she will send you a tasting box to help with your decision.
We served the cake as our wedding dessert, and Joanne's orientation about the size was spot on for our party.
We were so lucky to have worked with such talented people on our wedding day, and Joanne was one of them.
We would definitely recommend her work to anyone looking for a perfect cake for their special day.

Joanne baked us the most beautiful and delicious 3 tier chocolate cake for our wedding!the guiness, chocolate cherry and brownie were amazing. It was honestly the nicest cake that we have ever tasted and stayed so fresh to be served at our Day 2. Our guests couldn't get enough and there wasn't a crumb leftover. I highly recommend The Chic Cake Boutique as a wedding cake supplier. Joanne made a cake for our recent wedding day. We were blown away by it's beauty
It perfectly matched our wedding theme and style. The attention to detail in the design, from the fondant work to the delicate sugar flowers was incredible. Our guests couldn't stop admiring the cake's stunning appearance. The cake was equally delicious, moist and flavourful. This was important to us as we served our cake as the dessert on our wedding day.

Also, from the moment we first contacted Joanne she was so helpful. She promptly replied to all my queries was truly and provided all the necessary information I needed. One of the highlights of our experience with Joanne was the amazing taster box she sent us once we booked with her. It was like receiving a delightful surprise in the mail! The taster box contained an array of scrumptious mini cake samples, allowing us to taste a variety of flavors and fillings. Joanne made our beautiful wedding cake in October 2021. We had a two tier cake - an 8 inch cake which was a chocolate Guinness cake coated with caramelised chocolate and vanilla buttercream and a 6 inch Red Velvet cake coated with cream cheese buttercream. What attracted us to Joanne's cakes most of all were the beautiful sugar flowers she can make which are stunning. She is very talented and really helped us to come up with the cake design from the very beginning. We also ordered some macarons which, together with the wedding cake on the day, Joanne beautifully arranged for us. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other reasons, we had to re-arrange our wedding multiple times but Joanne was happy to still accommodate us and was very helpful. We arranged our wedding from abroad and she was so helpful in arranging a cake tasting box once we were in Ireland to allow us to decide on the cake flavours in a process which was stress free. We highly recommend her to make your future wedding cake. You will be in very safe hands and will support a small business also. Thank you Joanne!

Myself and Ewen got married back in Sept 2021, I’m just figuring out google review so this one is a little late!

All you need to know is that this woman makes excellent cakes!! Joanne was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Our guest numbers kept going up and down due to changing restrictions but Joanne made the whole process very easy and stress free!

We opted for a postal tasting box. (Picture attached!) We couldn’t believe how much cake arrived! It was fabulous! Enough for the whole family to get in on the tasting, which was amazing as we couldn’t do much together in the run up to the wedding, so this felt like a really special part of the prep! The decision was so difficult as all the flavours were all delicious!
We opted for a mint chocolate biscuit cake, a Guinness chocolate cake and a Victoria sponge for the top layer and they were all incredible. It went down an absolute treat with everyone raving about it!

The cake itself was beautiful and Joanne did exactly what we were after, even working with the florist to add fresh flowers to it.
Joanne is wonderful, do yourself and favour and book her for your special event! She is a lovely lady with an amazing talent for delicious cakes!

Joanne recently made our wedding cake and it was amazing. We have had guests contact us to ask the flavours because they enjoyed it so much.. I highly recommend the Guinness Chocolate Cake and my husband the Choc Biscuit cake. She was amazing to deal with from start to finish..we can't recommend her highly enough. Joanne made us a stunning cake for our wedding day, which was beautifully decorated. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious - and all of our guests agreed. We chose Guinness chocolate, salted caramel, and chocolate whiskey espresso but all of the flavours in the tasting box were great and it was so hard to choose. Joanne was very professional and easy to deal with. She also made a birthday cake for one of the brothers in law, and he was delighted with it. We can't reccomend her enough.
